About
I am a lawyer with 17 years of experience in the public and private sectors, most of them leading legal functions. I have led the legal and procurement function of a state-owned company with around 250 employees, and a litigation department in a private company. Since June 2026 I am the owner and board member of SIA LexAI — the company where my two professions meet.
I believe a good lawyer is not just a problem-solver but a process architect — someone who structures the work so that problems do not arise.
My specialisation: public procurement, contract law, corporate governance, litigation and assignment transactions.
That is why, alongside legal practice, I build AI tools that generate, structure and check legal documents in Latvian — with all the nuances of its grammar, diacritics and legal terminology. I am interested in one specific question: how technology can make legal work more precise, not merely faster.

LexAI
activeLexAI is an AI legal platform for the Baltic legal system: legal opinions with references to the law, legal documents, contract risk reviews and procedures with statutory deadlines. Services cost from €6.99 each, with no subscription, for companies and private individuals alike.
The provision from the source, not from memory
Every provision a document refers to is loaded from the current version on likumi.lv or EUR-Lex. After drafting, every reference is compared against the loaded text, and if a section cannot be loaded, the document says so plainly.
Two-level check
Every document is automatically checked for invented sections, outdated provisions and contradictions. In high-risk cases LexAI flags that a lawyer should review it, and it does not draft opinions in areas it is not built for.
Technology
The generation pipeline handles Latvian diacritics, UTF-8 offsets and page breaks in PDF and DOCX export — the details that usually break general-purpose tools. The platform runs on the Gemini API and Firebase, with Stripe payments and a document vault for every user.
Why me
LexAI is where my two professions meet: every prompt is written to a lawyer's standard, every line of code with an understanding of how the document will be read in court.

While you still can choose: three documents that keep your family out of disputes
A will, a lasting power of attorney and a marriage contract are three documents that decide for you at the moment you can no longer decide yourself. Without them, the law, a court or the orphan's court decides in your place, and not always the way you would have wanted.

Frequently asked questions
Short answers with references to the law. This is general information, not advice on a specific matter.
What is the statutory interest on a late payment in Latvia?
If the contract sets no rate, statutory interest is 6% a year (Civil Law, Section 1765(1)). For late payment for goods or services under a contract that does not involve a consumer, interest is eight percentage points above the base rate — the European Central Bank's most recent main refinancing rate (Civil Law, Section 1765(2) and (3)).
How long until a claim becomes time-barred?
The general limitation period is 10 years (Civil Law, Section 1895). Claims arising from commercial transactions become time-barred in three years unless the law sets another period (Commercial Law, Section 406). The period can be interrupted, for example by bringing a claim in court or by the debtor acknowledging the debt.
When does the EU AI Act apply?
In stages. Prohibited AI practices and the AI literacy obligation have applied since 2 February 2025, most of the Act since 2 August 2026. For high-risk systems in the Annex III areas (such as recruitment or creditworthiness assessment), obligations apply from 2 December 2027 (Article 113 of Regulation (EU) 2024/1689, as amended by Regulation (EU) 2026/1744).
Does a website chatbot have to say it is AI?
Yes. From 2 August 2026, people must be informed that they are interacting with an AI system unless that is obvious, at the latest at the first interaction (AI Act, Article 50(1) and (5)).
Can AI draft a contract for me?
AI can help with the structure and a first draft, but responsibility for the content stays with whoever signs the contract. Check every legal reference against the official source (likumi.lv) and make sure the contract fits the facts of your deal.
Does LexAI replace a lawyer?
No. LexAI prepares opinions and documents with references to checked provisions, but in high-risk cases it recommends review by a lawyer and it does not draft opinions in areas it is not built for.
How do I book a consultation, and is the first call free?
Yes, the 30-minute introductory call is free. You can send a request in the Consulting section; I consult from November 2026, on weekday evenings.
Answers checked in October 2026. The law changes — check the current version on likumi.lv or EUR-Lex before acting.
